New customer checklist for contractors: first-visit basics

A clean first contact saves time on every later visit. Capture the same few details every time.

  1. Full name, phone and service address. Confirm spelling and a number you can reach.
  2. What the problem is, in their words. Write it down before you quote anything.
  3. Access notes. Gate codes, pets, parking, who will be home.
  4. How they prefer to be contacted. Call, text or email. Only message people who agreed to it.
  5. Where they found you. This tells you which marketing is working.
