How to write a welcome message for new customers

A short first message sets expectations and cuts the questions that come later.

  1. Thank them by name. Open with their name and one line of thanks for choosing you.
  2. Confirm what happens next. State the date, arrival window and who is coming.
  3. Say how to reach you. Give one phone number and the hours you answer it.
  4. List what to prepare. Parking, access, pets, clear working space and a point of contact on site.
  5. Mention how payment works. Say when deposits or invoices are due so nothing is a surprise.

Common questions

How long should it be?

Under 100 words. People read the first few lines on a phone.

Should it be a call or a message?

Either. Use whichever the customer used to reach you, and keep a copy on the job.
