How to write a simple service agreement for repeat customers

Set expectations for visits, response and payment in plain words.

  1. List what is covered. Name the equipment or systems and the visits included.
  2. State the schedule. Say how often visits happen and how you will confirm them.
  3. Explain what is extra. Make clear which repairs, parts and after-hours calls cost more.
  4. Set payment terms. State when you bill, how the customer pays and what happens if payment is late.
  5. Say how to cancel. Give the notice and the way to end the agreement.
  6. Have it reviewed. Ask your attorney to review the wording before you use it.
