How to train a new office person to handle calls and scheduling
Give a new hire a checklist so calls become booked jobs.
- Write the call script. List the questions to ask: name, address, problem, urgency and best contact.
- Explain the schedule rules. Teach drive time, arrival windows and which jobs need which tech.
- Share the price guidance. Tell them what they may quote and when to hand off to you.
- Practice together. Role play a few typical calls before they take real ones.
- Review early calls. Listen to or read the first week of calls and give feedback.
- Write down answers. Keep a short sheet of common questions so answers stay consistent.
