How to run a ten-minute morning huddle for your crew
A short daily huddle that gets every tech on the same page before the trucks roll.
- Start on time and stand up. Ten minutes, same time every day, same place.
- Walk through today's jobs. Each tech hears the address, the customer's name and anything unusual about the job.
- Flag parts and trucks. Call out what is on order, what is low on the truck and who needs to stop at the supplier.
- Name the one safety point. Pick one thing for the day, such as ladder footing, heat breaks or electrical lockout.
- Ask for problems. Give each person a chance to say what could go wrong today.
- End with the day's priority. Say the one job that must not slip, so everyone knows what to protect.
Common questions
Can the huddle be by phone?
Yes. A short call works when crews start from home, as long as everyone gets the same information.
How do I keep it to ten minutes?
Write the day's jobs down the night before so the huddle is reading, not figuring out.
