How to prepare a job site before the crew arrives

A few minutes of prep means the crew starts work instead of waiting.

  1. Confirm access. Make sure the crew knows how to get in, where to park and who to call.
  2. Check materials. Verify what has been delivered and what is still missing.
  3. Clear the work area. Ask the customer to move furniture or vehicles ahead of time.
  4. Share the plan. Send the scope, photos and notes to the crew the day before.
  5. Plan for protection. Bring floor covers, drop cloths or whatever the site needs.

Common questions

Who should do the prep call?

Whoever knows the job best, often the estimator or office lead.
