How to keep your work truck organized and professional

Customers notice the truck. An organized one also means fewer trips back to the shop.

  1. Give every item a home. Label bins and shelves so anyone on the crew can find a part.
  2. Do a five-minute reset at day end. Restock, sweep out debris and put tools back where they belong.
  3. Keep a small customer kit. Shoe covers, drop cloths and cleaning supplies make a good first impression.
  4. Track what is running low. Write down items as you use the last of them so the next order is accurate.
  5. Check safety gear weekly. Look at fire extinguisher, first-aid kit and straps on a set day.

Common questions

How often should the truck be cleaned?

Many shops wash weekly and deep-clean monthly. Choose a schedule your crew will keep.
