How to handle a same-day appointment request

Same-day requests are valuable but can wreck a full schedule if you say yes without a plan.

  1. Ask what is urgent. Is there damage, a safety risk or just impatience? The answer sets your priority.
  2. Check your real capacity. Look at the day's route and buffer time before promising a window.
  3. Offer a window, not a minute. Give a two-hour arrival window and confirm by phone or message.
  4. Explain any rush charge. If you charge for same-day work, say so before you book.
  5. Confirm and note it. Write the request, address and agreed window on the job right away.

Common questions

Should I always say yes?

No. Say yes when you can do the job well; otherwise offer the first honest opening.

Can I charge extra?

Many contractors do. Tell the customer the amount before booking and keep it consistent.
