How to handle a customer who wants to watch the work
Some customers want to be there. Set expectations and it can go smoothly.
- Say yes kindly. Most customers just want to feel in control. Welcome them.
- Set safe areas. Point out where it is safe to stand and where it is not.
- Explain what you are doing. A short explanation at each stage builds trust.
- Keep the questions for breaks. Offer to answer questions at natural stopping points.
- Protect your time. If it slows the job, say so politely and agree on when you will update them.
