How to handle a customer who keeps adding small requests
Small extras feel harmless one at a time. Together they can take half a day.
- Say yes to small things once. A quick favour builds goodwill. Note it on the job.
- Name the line. Say kindly when something is outside the quote and offer to price it.
- Write extras down. Send a short message listing what was added and the cost, if any.
- Batch them. Offer to handle the list on a second visit if it will not fit today.
- Confirm before starting. Get a yes in writing, even a text, before extra work begins.
