How to follow up on an unpaid deposit

A signed quote without a paid deposit is not a booked job. A short, friendly follow-up fixes most delays.

  1. Send a reminder within two days. Include the amount, what it reserves and how to pay.
  2. Make paying easy. Share a payment link or the method you accept.
  3. Offer to answer questions. Hesitation often means an unanswered question about scope or timing.
  4. Set a hold date. Tell the customer how long you can keep the slot.
  5. Release the slot politely. If no reply, free the date and let the customer know they can rebook.
