First-visit arrival checklist for new customers

First impressions decide repeat work and referrals. A consistent arrival routine makes every first visit feel professional.

  1. Confirm the visit that morning. Send a short message with the arrival window and the tech's name.
  2. Check the address and access notes. Review parking, gate codes, pets and who will be home before leaving the shop.
  3. Arrive clean and introduce yourself. Greet the customer, state who you are and what you are there to do.
  4. Walk the problem together. Ask the customer to show you the issue and repeat it back so you both agree.
  5. Explain the next step before you start. Tell them what you will check, what it may cost, and when they will hear back.

Common questions

How early should I arrive?

Inside the window you gave. If you will be late, message before the window starts.

What if the customer is not home?
