End-of-day paperwork routine for contractors (15 minutes)
Paperwork done the same day takes minutes. Paperwork left for Sunday night takes hours and gets forgotten.
- Photograph receipts. Snap each receipt and note the job it belongs to before it ends up in the truck.
- Log hours. Write down who worked on which job, even roughly, while it is fresh.
- Save job photos and notes. Before and after photos protect you if a question comes up later.
- Send tomorrow's confirmations. A quick message to tomorrow's customers cuts no-shows.
- Queue invoices and follow-ups. Note which jobs are ready to bill and which quotes need a nudge.
Common questions
Can I do this in my truck?
Yes. A phone and five minutes in the driveway is enough for most steps.
What if I am too tired?
Do the receipts and hours only. Those are the hardest to rebuild later.
